APIE KURATORĘ:

Jennifer Teets yra Hiustone, Teksase, gimusi kuratorė ir rašytoja, nuo 2009 m. gyvenanti Paryžiuje. Tyrinėjanti mokslo ir technologijų poetikos, materialinės kultūros, literatūros ir performanso susikirtimus, nuo 2000-ųjų pradžios ji kuravo daugybę parodų ir pokalbių su menininkais ir mąstytojais visame pasaulyje. Ji redagavo ir sudarė knygas „Electric Brine“ (Archive Books, 2021) ir „Intymi išpažintis yra projektas“ (Inventory Press, 2024). Jos kritika ir esė pasirodė žurnaluose „ArtReview“, „Mousse“, „Artforum“, „frieze“, „SPIKE“, „Topical Cream“ ir kt.

Curated especially for Meduza and the Vilnius book launch of Intimate confession is a project, Jennifer Teets has organized The House Won’t Hold, featuring new and existing video works by Rosa Aiello and Dylan Aiello, Lucy Beech and James Richards, Brianna Leatherbury, Luzie Meyer, Na Mira, Kenneth Tam, and Mark Aerial Waller.

The screenings will be held at the Videokapsule on the 28th and 29th of March at 7PM.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

The juxtaposition of intimacy and infrastructure might appear paradoxical at first, yet these two rubrics have recently been animating conversations around relational life in the work of a number of artists. Diving into the concept of how infrastructures can be understood as “affective” in their varied expressions of movement and imprint on cultural life through the participatory role of language, affect, and infrastructural studies, Intimate confession is a project is a complement to the exhibition of the same name at the Blaffer Art Museum.

ABOUT THE CURATOR:

Jennifer Teets is a Houston, Texas-born curator and writer based in Paris since 2009. Working at the intersection of the poetics of science and technology, material culture, literature, and performance, she has curated numerous exhibitions and talks since the early 2000s with artists and thinkers worldwide. She edited Electric Brine (Archive Books, 2021) and Intimate confession is a project (Inventory Press, 2024). Her criticism and essays have appeared in ArtReview, Mousse, Artforum, frieze, SPIKE, Topical Cream, among others.
